Danish Education, Culture and Teaching course
Danish education, culture and teaching is a three-month course open to our own students and students from our network partner colleges and universities in other countries.
The course is to be recognized as an integrated element in teacher training in the students' own countries. The working language of the course is English.
The aim on the course is to offer student teachers the opportunity to acquire a fairly thorough knowledge of values and ways of thinking within education, art, literature, and politics in Denmark; additionally, to have discussions of the educational systems of the participating students in order to enhance understanding of various ways of thinking education.
The methods of the course range from lectures, seminars, group work, to visits to museums, excursions, and teacher practice. Lectures and workshops by visiting scholars will be offered during a programmed week of staff exchange.
The content of the course is:
Danish history and the way Danish society works
Danish language
Danish literature, philosophy and art
School and education in Denmark
The final assessment will be expressed in a single mark, based on a group project written during the course of the programme and an oral examination at the end of the course. Participants will be the project group, their tutor and an external examiner.
Timetable: September, October and November.
The ECTS credit value of the course totals 30 credits.
